Come sempre i primi post dell'anno nuovo sono dedicati ai migliori dischi dell'anno appena concluso. In questo caso c'è la prima parte, quella dedicata ai "runners" o "dischi caldi" che dir si voglia, ovvero quei lavori molto interessanti da attirare l'attenzione e anche da suscitare un qualche entusiasmo, ma che forse mancano di un qualcosina, magari solo una virgola in più, per posizionarsi nella Top Ten. Anche se questo blog è praticamente chiuso da un bel pezzo - e si trascina avanti solo grazie al moto astrale e alla forza di gravità - in questo tremendo 2021 gli album ascoltati, divorati o solo origliati di sfuggita, sono stati veramente tanti, tantissimi. Penso di non aver mai ascoltato tanta musica nello stesso anno della sua pubblicazione. Una roba tipo dal produttore al consumatore, praticamente in tempo reale. Quasi tutti i dischi hanno subito un trattamento tipo: appena uscito, ascoltato e subito archiviato; un lavoro più che un piacere, a dire il vero. Alcuni invece hanno girato più a lungo sul giradischi, sul lettore compact disc o ancora di più sul player di Bandcamp o in alcuni blog alternativi.
Per ognuno di questi 300 che troverete qui sotto ci sono stati più o meno 2-300 scarti, sempre restando tra le categorie che mi interessano in qualche modo (punk, post punk, new wave, hardcore, metal, black metal, indie e suoni alternativi in genere). È stata una grande abbuffata, favorita un po' dal lockdown, un po' da un lungo, lunghissimo, periodo di riposo e un po' anche dalla grande abbondanza di materiale sfornato dalle varie band probabilmente a causa degli stessi motivi che mi hanno concesso così tanto tempo. Insomma, un effetto collaterale della pandemia, forse l'unico piacevole.
Tra questi 300 ci sono pezzi grossi (Iron Maiden, Cradle of Filth, Stranglers, Tribulation, Ministry, Black Keys, NOFX, Lacrimosa, Iceage, Down by Law, Darkthrone, Cheap Trick, Carcass) qualche gradito ritorno (Pretenders, Queers, Chrome tra gli altri) e tanta roba pescata dal più profondo underground. C'è solo qualche eccezione ai confini con il mainstream, mi vengono in mente i Garbage, ma niente di grossolanamente commerciale. Come sempre però c'è la possibilità che tra questi ci sia qualche infiltrato, ovvero qualche album che è qui per errore o anche qualcun altro che poteva stare tranquillamente nella Top Ten e invece è qui perché non gli ho prestato la dovuta attenzione. Comunque ormai è troppo tardi, il dado è tratto.
A breve arriverà la Top Ten e anche qui potrebbe esserci lo stesso problema: qualche clandestino che ha rosicchiato posizioni senza alcun merito o qualcuno che meriterebbe di vincere la medaglia d'oro e invece si deve accontentare di una posizione inferiore. Comunque sia, buon ascolto.
